Marvin Gaye - What's Going On Lyrics
Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today - Ya
Father, father
We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today
Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
Oh, what's going on
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Ah, what's going on
(In this song that Marvin Gaye sangs, I think that he's sending a message out to the "people" asking like, what's happening to everybody. I think he was trying to tell people that they need to change their ways becuz the things that he's seeing everyday are not right. So that's why the main lyrics are saying what's going on. He didn't just point to one crowd of people like, just males or just females. He was pointing to fathers, and men, young men, mothers, and etc.)

From Queen to Nelly: Bi***es & H*es
Ø In Queen Latifa’s Video and in her lyrics, she was saying how females are a “unity” which means together as one. Her video was dedicated to (I think) all females. I also think that she was saying to not let other people (mostly dudes) call them out their name and that they shouldn’t rely on guys, especially the ones that treat them wrong. The video (to me) seems that its telling women to not take the ignorant, disrespectful stuff that people do towards them and do something about it.
Ø In Mr. Nelly’s video, it’s the same o’l thing with females. Their always in underwear showing off their body. Yes, its bad towards females but honestly, most of the females in that video know what their doing. They just don’t do it for the camera, some of them do it b/c they need the money for living. Also yes, a LOT of things were said bad in the video towards females, it’s a shame, but until someone that is really offended does something than just stop the madness. I don’t especially don’t like when females are disrespected but until they feel they had enough and start doing something, what can anyone else do???

Agree?, or not to agree?, that is the question.
“It’s only-only at the end of the day, it’s only entertainment.”
- Jadakiss, Rapper
I have a mix decision on this quote. The thing is that yes, sometimes its entertainment and sometimes the things that seems like entertainment should be taken seriously and should be listened to. Not everything about Hip-hop is entertainment, somethings rappers or singers want people to hear and to understand what’s going on. Somethings they want to be taken seriously and some not. The issue is that… I guess some people take some stuff WAY TOO serious and take it to heart and make it into themselves. They make it their life and especially if they like it, the more they like it the more they attend to it. If I would have to make a decision though, I would say that my vote is majority “no” on this quote.
One thing I do have a BIG issue on is this,
“When I hear a rap song, I pay more attention to the beat than to the lyrics.”
The beat is not what makes the song, it’s the lyrics in the song that makes the beat. How can you not hear what’s going on behind the curtain of the beat, when most rappers/singers make a track(song) they put lyrics in it for a reason. They want to be HEARD. The beat is to attract, and once you’re attracted, they want you to listen and not just to the beat to the lyrics. People should be more careful to the things they listen to, not saying that a lot of things people listen to are bad and should be banned or nothing. Just take the moment to know what’s going on in the song.

"Hip hop is the voice of this generation... it has become a powerful force". -DJ Kool Herc
I agree to the qoute because everywhere you go I BET you would hear or see something related to hip hop culture. Even other styles of music are joining/combining with the hip hop ways and making some music with it. People refer to hip hop a lot when making a point to something sometimes. Majority of places you go, you would notice that hip hop has taking the way people dress, speak and make decisions. Hip hop has even changed the ways of race and sex. HOP HIP WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD. MUHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA

My intake on all this Body Image stuff:
Since I have been observing media views of body images and in the views of other people, I have notice that body image is a type of culture for mostly a LOT of things. When people dress up to go somewhere and not really anywhere special, they think about the image or style of how others or the way that is most popular. Different people do different things with style or image. They refer back to something they saw, what other people are talking about or things that are posted on magazines, computer, television, posters, etc. It’s really funny to me that people don’t have control over their lives and they make it an occupation to make sure they fit in. Me... Personally... I don’t really give a crap what others think about me unless, what I’m doing is really not the best for me or I need to give it a thought or two about my choices. Besides that I love what I do and what I do is cool (in my mind at least). I get talked about my “new” style everyday… ummm… yeah, everyday. I don’t mind it, plus it’s not bad to the point where I’m about to die if I don’t do it. I don’t let other people effect the choices I make unless, like I said, I’m doing something real wrong with myself. So anywhooooo people have no control on their lives, it seems that everyone needs someone else to tell them how to do something. IT’S REDICULOUS.

Private Life vs Impact on Job
Sometimes what celebrities do in their personal life might make them more famous or it might break you like it might Chris Brown after finding out that he assaulted a female and put her in the hospital. Some celebrities doh, might become very very famous like some rappers and gangs doing things they do. On a normal person's life, doing stuff like that can effect you the most. If you were to have a record for stealing or you were an ex convict if would be most difficult to even get a job. Being a celebrity takes great sacrafice, too many people are in your life. Too many people want to know what's going on in your life. It's so crazy, if you're a celebrity and no one is messing with you, than you are a lucky son-of-a-gun.

200000000000000009 Soup-er Bowl Commericials... What ya Think...?
Since i've seen commercials from back in the 1970's through 2000's, I think that the 2009 videos could have done better for A LOT of commercials. The commerical with the horses and them playing football, but right when they were playing the lamb came in between the play nude was a good commercial for the superbowl because it describe what someone would do at a football game. Some commercials were just funy like baby commericals because talking babies are funny, its as simple as that. Talking babies are an oringinal idea, its herrrrrrrr-larry-uss. Some other funny commercials were Mr. and Mrs. Potatoe head driving and how she loses her lips when Mr. Potatoe head stops the car. I like the commercials because it's cool howthey show A BUNCH of new cool movies like Transformers 2.
Some things I didn't like about the commercials were that they only had about two to three commercials on food. Most of the commercials were advertising alcoholic things. Like me, I'm not a fan of alcohol. I was getting tired of seeing bud light and bud weiser commercials. This years car commercials were kind of pointless even though they tryed to make them interesting by adding famous movie actors like Jason Statman. All in all the commercials were good but not as great as they could of been.
